100% American-raised — never imported
Everything sold on The Farm To You comes from animals born, raised, and harvested in the United States by independently owned American ranches, farms, and fisheries. We do not allow imported meat, poultry, or seafood on the marketplace — ever. Every rancher must document and stand behind exactly where their product comes from, so you always know your food is American-raised.
Products we never allow
To protect that promise, the following are prohibited from being listed, advertised, or sold through the marketplace:
- Imported meat, poultry, seafood, or other prohibited imported products
- Products whose country or place of origin cannot be verified
- Products that misrepresent where an animal was born, raised, harvested, processed, or packaged
- Products whose origin differs materially from the information provided on the listing
- Products purchased from undisclosed suppliers for resale as Rancher-produced products
All origin claims must be accurate, transparent, and supported by appropriate records.
Required standards
Each Rancher is responsible for ensuring that every product offered, processed, packaged, stored, and shipped through Farm To You complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws. At a minimum:
- Meat and poultry must be slaughtered, processed, and packaged at appropriately USDA-inspected or state-inspected facilities, as required by law
- Seafood must be sourced, processed, stored, and handled in accordance with applicable seafood-safety requirements, including a compliant HACCP plan where required
- All products must be accurately labeled in accordance with applicable federal and state regulations, including required product identification, ingredient, allergen, inspection, handling, storage, weight, and producer information
- Product descriptions and marketing claims — including claims concerning origin, breed, feeding practices, organic status, humane treatment, sustainability, or production methods — must be truthful, supportable, and legally compliant
- Products must be stored, packaged, and shipped using methods designed to maintain safe temperatures throughout the Rancher's stated processing and transit window
- Packaging must be suitable for the product and designed to protect it against contamination, leakage, tampering, and material damage during delivery
- Ranchers must maintain all required licenses, registrations, permits, inspection records, food-safety plans, insurance, and supporting documentation
- Ranchers must promptly notify Farm To You of any inspection failure, regulatory action, suspected contamination, product recall, foodborne-illness complaint, license suspension, or other event that could affect product safety or legal compliance
Documentation and review
Farm To You may review a Rancher's licensing, inspection, processing, insurance, labeling, and food-safety documentation during onboarding and periodically thereafter. Ranchers must provide current and accurate documentation upon request and promptly report any expiration, suspension, revocation, or material change affecting their eligibility to sell. Farm To You may conduct additional compliance reviews or audits at any time.
Product recalls and safety incidents
Ranchers must maintain procedures for product traceability, customer notification, withdrawal, and recall where required. If a product may be unsafe, contaminated, adulterated, mislabeled, or subject to a recall, Farm To You may immediately remove the affected listing, suspend sales, withhold related payouts, notify impacted customers, and take any other action reasonably necessary to protect customers and comply with applicable law.
Enforcement
Farm To You may reject products, remove listings, suspend fulfillment, delay or withhold payouts, require corrective action, or suspend or terminate a Rancher's marketplace access for failure to satisfy these standards. Approval to sell through Farm To You does not relieve a Rancher of responsibility for the safety, legality, quality, labeling, or fulfillment of their products.
Farm To You approval badge
The Farm To You approval badge indicates that a Rancher provided documentation demonstrating compliance with Farm To You's marketplace requirements at the time of review. The badge is a private marketplace designation, is not a government certification or inspection, does not guarantee that every product will be free from defects or safety risks, and may be suspended or removed if a Rancher no longer meets Farm To You's standards.
