Seller Standards

The minimum expectations every Rancher must meet to sell through the marketplace.

1. American-raised products

Products marketed as American-raised must come from animals raised in the United States and must satisfy Farm To You's documentation requirements. Each Rancher must operate as an independently owned business, accurately disclose where animals were born, raised, processed, and packaged, maintain records supporting all origin claims, and avoid language that could mislead customers about a product's source. Any exceptions or eligibility rules for imported animals, ingredients, processing, or packaging must be clearly disclosed and approved by Farm To You.

2. Honest and accurate listings

  • Product type, cut, quantity, and approximate weight
  • Pricing and inventory availability
  • Breed and animal origin
  • Feeding and raising practices
  • Processing and packaging methods
  • Ingredients and allergen information
  • Storage and preparation instructions
  • Processing and shipping timelines

Claims such as "grass-fed," "grass-finished," "pasture-raised," "organic," "regeneratively raised," "hormone-free," or similar representations must be truthful, legally compliant, and supported by appropriate records or certifications.

3. Food safety and compliance

  • Use appropriately inspected and licensed processing facilities
  • Maintain all required licenses, permits, and food-safety documentation
  • Follow applicable temperature-control and cold-chain procedures
  • Package products to protect against contamination, leakage, tampering, and material damage
  • Promptly disclose recalls, inspection failures, contamination concerns, or other safety incidents
  • Comply with Farm To You's Food Safety and Quality Standards

4. Inventory and order fulfillment

Ranchers must maintain accurate inventory and fulfill accepted orders within the processing and shipping windows communicated to customers. Every shipment must include valid tracking information. If an order cannot be fulfilled on time, the Rancher must promptly notify Farm To You and cooperate in providing an appropriate customer resolution. Repeated late shipments, cancellations, unavailable inventory, or missing tracking information may affect a Rancher's marketplace standing.

5. Cold-chain shipping

Ranchers are responsible for selecting packaging, carriers, and service levels appropriate for their products and delivery destinations. Perishable products must be packaged using methods designed to maintain safe temperatures throughout the stated transit window. Ranchers are responsible for addressing failures caused by inadequate packaging, improper handling, or an unsuitable shipping method.

6. Customer service

Ranchers must respond professionally to customer questions, order concerns, and Farm To You support requests within two business days. Urgent food-safety, delivery, recall, or product-quality concerns must be addressed as soon as reasonably possible. Ranchers must cooperate with Farm To You when investigating complaints, issuing refunds or replacements, responding to chargebacks, or resolving disputed orders.

7. Customer ratings and performance

  • Customer ratings and verified reviews
  • Order-defect and complaint rates
  • On-time shipment rates
  • Tracking compliance
  • Rancher-initiated cancellations
  • Refund and replacement frequency
  • Responsiveness to customers
  • Food-safety or regulatory incidents

8. Prohibited misrepresentation

Ranchers may not misrepresent or conceal product or animal origin, breed or species, feeding and raising practices, processing location or inspection status, product weight, quantity, or contents, certifications or regulatory approvals, ingredients or allergens, availability or delivery estimates, or ownership or business affiliations. Ranchers may not use photographs, descriptions, certifications, reviews, or branding they do not own or have permission to use.

9. Customer information

Customer information may be used only to fulfill orders, provide authorized support, or comply with legal obligations. Ranchers may not sell customer information, use it for unauthorized marketing, add customers to outside mailing lists without valid consent, or use it to divert marketplace customers to off-platform transactions.

10. Monitoring and enforcement

Farm To You may review Rancher documentation, listings, fulfillment records, customer feedback, and performance at any time. If a Rancher does not meet these standards, Farm To You may issue a warning, require corrective action, remove or restrict individual listings, temporarily suspend new orders, delay or withhold related payouts, suspend or remove the Rancher from the marketplace, or notify customers or regulatory authorities where legally required. Approval to sell through Farm To You does not constitute a government certification and does not relieve a Rancher of responsibility for its products, claims, operations, or legal compliance.
